• What is GirlsLikeStuff.com and how does it work?
  GirlsLikeStuff.com is a teenager-created (our president is a teenager!) shopping community where girls recommend, share and uncover new stuff. To use GirlsLikeStuff.com, you add the "Add to GirlsLikeStuff" Shopping Wizard to your favorites list. Whenever you like a product, an article, a picture or any web page, click on the Add to GirlsLikeStuff.com link that is in your computer's Favorites list and it will lead you through adding it to your personal collection list in GirlsLikeStuff.com. You can create a list on any topic ranging from buying a pair of shoes to planning a science project or even researching an upcoming summer vacation. You can click on the My Profile link on GirlsLikeStuff.com at any time to see all your lists. You can also use GirlsLikeStuff.com without signing up to just see what others are adding to GirlsLikeStuff.com. For further detail, see the Get Started page.



• How do I invite my friends to GirlsLikeStuff.com?
  You should invite all of your friends to join. This is a great way to stay up on the latest stuff to buy, wear or see. Here’s how you do it: Use the "Invite Friends" link on the your profile page or on the top right of any GirlsLikeStuff.com page. Anyone you invite will be listed as your friend in GirlsLikeStuff.com once they sign up and you’ll be notified of each other’s activity as you add public items and comments in GirlsLikeStuff.com.



• Will GirlsLikeStuff.com always be free to use?
  We plan to keep GirlsLikeStuff.com free forever. We believe that the ads within the GirlsLikeStuff.com site as well as future advertiser-supported features will be helpful to GirlsLikeStuff.com users and will also pay the college tuition, rent and wages for the GirlsLikeStuff.com team. That’s my Dad’s plan, anyway.



• I want my friends to vote on which items on my list they like best. Is there an easy way to do that?
  Yes. In the bar beneath your list title, there is a drop-down menu titled "More Actions." Select "List Settings." Make sure the list type is something other than "Wishlist" or "Top Picks" and then click the "On" button where it says Item Voting. Your friends will see 5 stars associated with each item and can easily cast their votes. Once someone votes, as the list owner you will be able to click the blue link beneath the image for any item and see the details of who has voted and what their vote was.



• I don’t want to get any spam. Do you share users’ email addresses with anyone else?
  I hate spam, too. We do not share email addresses of GirlsLikeStuff.com users with anyone. The only mail you will receive as a result of registering with GirlsLikeStuff.com will come directly from us. And you’ll be able to opt out of communications from us at any time through a link included on every email we send.



• Is there a limit to the number of lists I can have?
  There is no limit to the number of lists you can have. We hope you will create a wide variety of GirlsLikeStuff.com lists and that you will keep most of them public so that the entire GirlsLikeStuff.com community can benefit from your ideas.



• I got the "Add to GirlsLikeStuff" Shopping Wizard in my favorites list, but when I click "Add to GirlsLikeStuff.com" nothing happens. What’s up?
  GirlsLikeStuff.com uses JavaScript and cookies. If "Add to GirlsLikeStuff.com" is not working, even after a brief pause, then JavaScript or cookies are disabled on your Web Browser.   Yes. It’s very simple to remove the GirlsLikeStuff.com Shopping Wizard.
  1. Click the "Favorites" star on your computer.
  2. Right click on the "Add to GirlsLikeStuff" in your Favorites list.
  3. Left click on Delete.
  



• How do I make one of my lists private?
  In the bar beneath your list, there is the option to View or Delete. Select Delete.



• Can I change the order of items on my list?
  In the bar beneath your list title, there is a drop-down menu titled "More Actions." Select "Reorder List." Then, on the next screen, either drag and drop items or click the up and down arrows to reorganize your list and click "Submit" to make the change.



• How do I delete a list?
  In the bar beneath your list there is the option to View or Delete, select Delete.



• How do I change the title of my list?
  In the bar beneath your list title, there is a drop-down menu titled "More Actions." Select "List Settings" and then you enter the title you want in the "List name" box and click "Submit" to make the change.



• How do I change an existing GirlsLikeStuff.com list into a “Wish List” or a “Top Picks” list or a different list type?
  In the bar beneath your list title, there is a drop-down menu titled "More Actions." Select "List Settings," then click the button next to the appropriate type in the "List type" area. The choices are "Shopping" (for shopping research and decisions), "Travel" (for trip planning with your fsmily or friends), "Top Picks" (for creating a list of your favorite stuff where items are labeled #1, #2, #3…), "Wish List" (for grabbing stuff you want and sharing the list with other members for coordinated gift-giving), "Collectibles" (for showcasing rare or interesting stuff in your collection), and "Other" (for the hundreds of other GirlsLikeStuff.com uses).



• How do I create an item on my list using my own words and pictures from my computer?
  Click the "Add New Item" link in the bar beneath the title of your list. Then enter title, description, tags and other information and up to 4 images. This item will look just like other items on your list. But when clicked, instead of going to some other website, it will lead to the list you created on GirlsLikeStuff.com.



• After I create a Wishlist, how do I make sure other girls find it?
  From your Wish List, click "E-mail List" in the gray bar beneath your Wish List title. Then on the "To:" line, enter the email addresses of everyone you want to share your Wishlist with (and use a comma after each email address you enter). Add any message text you might want to include and then click the "Send" button. All the girls on your list will receive an email invitation and will be able to view your Wishlist whether or not they are registered GirlsLikeStuff.com users.



• How can I find the Wishlist of someone I know?
  Go to any GirlsLikeStuff.com list they’ve created and simply click their username near the top of the list where it says "[username] is GirlsLikeStuffing about:" to see a list of all their public GirlsLikeStuff.com lists. Unless they’ve made their Wishlist private, you should see it among their public GirlsLikeStuff.com lists.



• When I reserve a gift from someone’s Wishlist, do other girls see that I reserved it?
  When you reserve a gift from someone’s Wishlist, other shoppers who visit the Wishlist see that the gift has been reserved, but they do not see who reserved it. The Wishlist owner does not see any indication that the gift has been reserved unless they click a "peek" link that will show whether or not a particular gift has been reserved; but even then, they do not see who reserved the gift. So, your identity is secure, unless you blab and tell a friend, who tells another friend, who…



• How do I share specific GirlsLikeStuff.com lists with others?
  On any GirlsLikeStuff.com list, just click "E-mail List" in the bar beneath the list title. Enter as many email addresses as you like on the "To:" line (and use a comma after each email address when you’re entering more than one email address). Then type a message if you want and click the "Send" button.



• If I want to share my list with friends, do they have to first sign up for GirlsLikeStuff.com?
  No. Whenever you share a list with your friends by using the "E-mail List" link they will be able to view the list with one click even if they are not yet registered GirlsLikeStuff.com members.



• What are GirlsLikeStuff.com groups?
  In GirlsLikeStuff.com, you can form groups around common areas of interest, your sports, hobbies, school or work groups, family, friends, or clothing choices. Each group will feature a forum where members can discuss topics of interest, relevant GirlsLikeStuff.com lists submitted by individual group members, and a "Group Collection" where group members can submit individual items to a GirlsLikeStuff.com list.



• How do I copy from interesting lists I find on GirlsLikeStuff.com?
  Each list and every item in GirlsLikeStuff.com has a Copy link. If you want to copy an entire list or multiple items from the same list, from the drop-down menu titled "More Actions," select "Copy." Select the list you would like to copy to (or create a new list) and the items you would like to copy, and then click "Copy" in the bar beneath the title of the list. To copy just one item from a list, click the "Copy Item" link beneath the summary information for the item.



• Is there any way to search for specific lists?
  Yes. Our search box is available in the upper-middle, under the Navigation bar of every page.



• What is the best way to keep track of GirlsLikeStuff.com lists I find?
  To keep track of GirlsLikeStuff.com lists you want to visit again and to be notified of any new activity on those lists, add them to your Favorites. To do so, go to the list you want to add. In the bar beneath the list title, there is a drop-down menu titled "More Actions." Select "Add to Favorites" and click "OK" to add it to your favorites. This will add the list to your My Favorites list in your left-hand navigation bar under My Lists. You will also see new activity on these lists on your My GirlsLikeStuff.com page and via email if you have email notification turned on in your account settings.



• Can I remove a comment once I submit it?
  Yes. Once you’ve added a comment, you’ll see the "Delete" link just to the right of any comment you have added. You can click that link at any time to remove a comment.



• Can I remove someone else’s comment from my list?
  Yes. As the creator of a list, you have the right to delete any comments made by anyone on your list. Simply click the "Delete" link on any comment on your list.



• What is the purpose of the "I like this list" button and why should I click it?
  Whenever you find a GirlsLikeStuff.com list you like, you should click the "I like this list" button. This provides feedback that the system uses for determining which lists to show highest in the search results and in other places on the site.



• How do I change my e-mail address(es), password or screen name?
  To change your e-mail address, password or screen name, go to "My Account." You’ll see links that allow you to change screen name, password, e-mail address(es) and e-mail notification setting.



• Can I have more than one email address associated with my account?
  You can have all of your email addresses associated with your account. To add another email address to your account, go to "My Account" and click "Add new email".
